Privacy Policy
Effective September 1, 2026
The short version
We collect the information needed to run accounts, create and deliver media, keep VidTok safe, and process purchases. Public posts are public; private creations are not intentionally published. Card details go directly to Stripe, not VidTok. We do not sell personal information.
1. Scope and controller
This Privacy Policy explains how Meridian Digital Media LLC (“VidTok,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information when you use the VidTok Service. It does not cover third-party services governed by their own policies.
2. Information you provide
- Account information: email address, display name, username, credentials, age or adult-content certification, and account settings.
- Creative Content: prompts, uploads, generated images or videos, posts, profile details, comments, tags, favorites, drafts, and sharing choices.
- Communications: support requests, reports, appeals, survey responses, and other messages you send us.
- Purchase information: selected pack, amount, currency, tax and fee facts, payment status, receipt link, and limited payment-provider identifiers.
Do not submit sensitive personal information about yourself or others unless it is necessary, lawful, and you have permission to do so.
3. Information collected automatically
- device, browser, operating-system, language, IP address, and approximate location information;
- login, session, cookie, security, error, and diagnostic information;
- pages viewed, links and controls used, feed and generation activity, playback events, and timestamps; and
- fraud, abuse, moderation, and payment-integrity signals.
When guest onboarding experiments are enabled, we use a first-party browser identifier to compare opening videos and account-invitation timing. We record viewing activity, invitation interactions, and whether that guest subsequently creates an account. This experiment data does not include your email address, raw IP address, or private creation prompts, and is kept separate from signed-in recommendation training.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide accounts, feeds, generation, storage, publishing, credits, and support;
- process and reconcile payments, refunds, disputes, taxes, and receipts;
- personalize and improve the Service, including recommendations and quality features you enable;
- detect fraud, protect users, enforce policies, investigate reports, and maintain security;
- communicate service, account, policy, safety, and transaction updates; and
- comply with law, establish or defend legal claims, and protect rights and safety.
5. AI and media processing
Prompts, uploads, and related Content are processed by automated systems and authorized service providers to generate and deliver requested media. We may use limited Content and operational data to maintain safety, diagnose failures, and improve VidTok as described in your settings and the Service. Private Content is not intentionally placed in public feeds unless you choose to publish it.
6. Payments
Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your payment-card number and security code are submitted directly to Stripe and are not stored by VidTok. Stripe provides us with limited transaction, customer, receipt, tax, fraud, refund, and dispute data needed to operate billing and the credit ledger. Stripe handles information under its Privacy Policy.
7. When we share information
- At your direction: when you publish Content, interact publicly, or connect a third-party feature.
- Service providers: companies supporting hosting, storage, communications, security, analytics, payments, and AI or media processing, subject to appropriate obligations.
- Legal and safety: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid process, prevent harm, investigate abuse, or protect rights.
- Business transactions: as part of a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by applicable United States state privacy laws.
8. Public Content
Content you publish may be visible to anyone with access to the relevant feed or profile and may be copied, reshared, downloaded, indexed, or retained by others. Removing public Content from VidTok does not remove copies controlled by third parties.
9. Retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain security and audit records, honor your settings, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, accounting, and payment obligations. Retention varies by data type. Deleted Content may remain temporarily in backups and may be retained longer when needed for safety, fraud prevention, legal holds, or payment records.
Guest onboarding identifiers last 30 days in the browser. Raw experiment events are scheduled for deletion after 30 days, and guest session records and account attribution links after 90 days. Anonymous experiment summaries may be retained for 13 months. Routine cleanup can take additional time to complete.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, receive, or restrict certain personal information; object to or opt out of certain processing; or appeal a privacy decision. You can manage available controls in your account or contact us. We may verify your request and may retain information where an exception applies. Authorized agents may submit requests where allowed by law.
You may unsubscribe from promotional email using the message instructions. We may still send necessary account, security, legal, and transaction messages.
11. Children and mature-content areas
VidTok is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Mature-content areas and generation tools designated 18+ are restricted to adults. If you believe a minor has used the Service contrary to these requirements, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
12. Security and international processing
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, but no system is perfectly secure. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where VidTok or its service providers operate. Where required, we use lawful transfer mechanisms and safeguards.
13. Changes
We may update this Policy as the Service and law change. We will post the updated version and provide additional notice of material changes when required.
14. Contact
